Melon Acres doesn’t mind going around the world when uniformity and quality are the goals. Our Geostel asparagus grader (new in 2003) was designed and manufactured in New Zealand. It was then shipped to Oaktown for assembly. This grader uses digital imaging to sort asparagus spears into uniform 1lb. bundles.

Melon Acres also uses cooling in conjunction with its packing lines to ensure that our uniformly packed produce reaches the consumer at the peak of freshness. The use of cooling also forges an important link in the “cold chain” and increases the safety of our produce.
